A Legacy of Stewardship and Giving
At Shahpura Bagh, sustainability and philanthropy have been at the heart of our legacy for generations. The history of Shahpura Bagh began with our ancestor, Rajadhiraj Nahar Singh (1870-1930), who laid the foundation of its rich heritage. He mortgaged the family wealth to build the region’s first rainwater harvesting system, a lifeline that continues to sustain Shahpura today. Rajadhiraj Nahar Singh also established the first modern Hindi primary school in 1873 and an all-girls school in 1875, championing education long before it was common. This commitment to community welfare was carried forward by Rajadhiraj Sudarshan Deo (1945-1991), who founded Dayanand Saraswati Girls School in 1963, donated Dhikhola Fort in 1971 to establish a school, and launched Shahpura Agricultural School in 1920.
Today, our family continues this legacy, supporting education, healthcare, tribal arts, and sustainable development. A stay at Shahpura Bagh isn’t just a holiday—it’s a chance to be part of preserving this rich heritage for future generations.
